Redeemed by His Precious Blood

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.  1 Peter 1:18,19  (KJV)

Redemption is a blessing that comes from faith in the blood of Jesus. Because we are redeemed, we ought to be thankful every day of our lives.

We are no longer sinners, because we have been bought back from the slavery of sin. Because God redeemed us, we are no longer sinners. We were sinners. It was through the shed blood of Jesus that we were redeemed and saved. Now we have been declared righteous because of what Jesus did for us. We could not save ourselves. But Jesus came along and did it for us. As a result we can stand before God without a feeling of guilt or inferiority. We ought to thank God for what He has done for us.

In this day, we must keep in mind that the blood of Jesus has been manifested just for us. God did not buy us with a perishable item, but with the precious blood of the Anointed One, the Lamb without blemish and without spot. That manifestation is evident in the peace we have in the midst of turmoil. In these days, your sleep should be sweet. Ask yourself, "are you sleeping well at night?" Then, that is the manifestation of your redemption in Christ. We have faith in the name and the blood of Jesus, and we can sleep like a baby.

We could not have been redeemed without a total remission or full payment for sin. Hebrews 9:22 says, "And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission." KJV) The word "remission" means freedom, pardon, forgiveness, and deliverance. It is the blood of Jesus that remitted our sins. Without the shedding of blood, there is no freedom, no pardon, no forgiveness, and no deliverance. But thank God the blood was shed. So we have deliverance and freedom. We have been pardoned, and we have been forgiven.

If Jesus had not given His life, then we would be doomed for eternal destruction. He looked past whether or not we deserved it--because we didn't--and gave His life in spite of us. Therefore, it is no wonder that we ought to be willing to show some sign before other men that we love the Lord. With all that God has given us, we ought to let the world know that there is a Name that we are submitted to. It is the Name of Jesus. We believe in Him and everybody around us ought to know we are Christians.
